Bahco For Life!
Lewis Heperi is a plumber and gasfitter on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. A little over a year ago, he decided to go “Bahco for life” – more precisely with a Bahco ERGO™ 9031 Adjustable Wrench that he had tattooed on his arm!
It was not a twist of mind, but a decision that only confirms the reality: Lewis and his 9031 belonging together.
During the second year of his apprenticeship, Lewis needed to buy a new adjustable wrench, and his boss recommended going for the one he had himself, a Bahco adjustable wrench. Lewis went to look for it in a shop, found the upgraded ERGO™ version of 9031, liked the feel and touch and bought it. And ever since, they have not been apart.
Lewis has been working as a plumber and gasfitter for seven years now, the assignments having varied from new house constructions to industrial and mining sites, and maintenance at hospitals. Nevertheless, in 99% of the interventions he uses his ERGO™ 9031 that is clearly one of the main tools in his toolbox that contains also a Bahco handsaw and a Bahco hand hacksaw.
“Bahco ERGO™ 9031 adjustable wrench is a beautiful tool and my favourite tool to use! It makes my job being a plumber and gasfitter a lot easier and lessens fatigue when you are in a tight spot; it is well balanced and a pleasure to work with. The adjusting spiral has never bound up and it has been through sand, mud, dirt and other liquids. It has never missed a beat and is still like new.”
We asked if Lewis thought that his ERGO™ 9031 had become part of him over the years – of his identity as a plumber and gasfitter – and he admitted it had, adding “It’s my little mate! Thank you for designing such a wonderful tool. I got a tattoo of it on my arm because it is my favourite tool.” And for sure, it is not only at work that he carries the 9031; it is with him 24/7 in the form of a unique tattoo… and that’s for life!
Lewis is planning to eventually extend his tattoos to cover his arms completely. We are eager to find out if his Bahco handsaw and Bahco hand hacksaw are going to be featured!
