The Bahco 325 is a professional hacksaw frame with a unique design. It features ergonomically designed soft grip handles, a centred blade that allows for superior balance and precision, and a solid aluminium frame that allows for very high blade tension for straight and accurate cuts. The 325 has a quick change tensioning mechanism with blade retaining springs for quick and easy blade changes, and offers an alternative 55 degree blade mounting for flush cutting.
The 225-Plus offers many features seen in the 325; however it can also be used as a compass saw. The 319 is a compact, stable, hi viz hacksaw frame for all round use. Like the 325 it features alternative 55 degree blade mounting, along with a strong steel frame that is covered with a protective dual plastic.
It has a comfortable, non slip back handle and a front grip that ensures a solid, secure grip. The tension mechanism is fully integrated into the handles so there is no obstruction during use. All these frames are supplied with Bahco’s Sandflex™ bi-metal blades.
Bahco manufactures bi metal blades. They are manufactured by welding together a high alloy/high speed steel for the tooth edge with a flexible spring steel for the back of the blade. Bahco’s Sandflex™ blades are made by exploiting the good properties of the material, whilst eliminating any flaws.
They combine extreme cutting performance and wear resistance with a high degree of flexibility, and are vastly superior to all-hard high speed blades or conventional blades. The tooth line is guaranteed to maintain its sharpness for a long time. The spring steel in the back gives flexibility and eliminates the risk of shattering, which is an issue common when sawing with fully hardened high speed steel blades. They are available in 18, 24, and 32 TPI.
Bahco hacksaws blades teeth are wave set as this configuration is the best setting. Small teeth are better for sawing thin material such as tubing and sheet material. All blades are made with tooth pitches of 18, 24, and 32 tooth per inch (TPI). The rule of thumb is that at least 3 teeth should be engaged at the same time. So for a piece of thin sheet metal, the tradie would choose 32 TPI whilst 18 TPI would be right for a piece of aluminium.
