Tools at Height
A wind turbine can be 100 metres tall. Imagine that you are sitting at the top of the turbine and a spanner you needed for a highly specialised task has slipped from your hand and is plummeting 100 metres to the ground. This not only represents an OHS nightmare, it also represents loss productivity while you climb back down to retrieve your spanner.
Bahco is one of the first hand tool manufacturers to offer anti drop solutions for tradies who are working at height. For many years Bahco has successfully worked through a scientific process to develop ergonomic hand tools. With Bahco’s Tools at Height range, they are taking their concern for professional safety to a new level.
Bahco’s Tools at Height range helps by stopping dropped tools harming people below, causing damage, or disrupting work. The Tools at Height range also provides secure tool transportation to the workplace and reliable tool retention whilst on the job.
Bahco’s Tools at Height range is likely to be seen on oil rigs, wind turbines, cranes, high rise building sites, telecommunications masts, power lines, hangers and overhead gantries.
Bahco’s Tools at Height range can be used to prevent tools falling into machinery, production lines, reservoirs, and other locations where retrieving them is both time consuming and dangerous. Even mining companies have bought the Tools at Height range for work underground.
The Tools at Height range includes an extensive range of lanyards, hand tool bags, highly specialised backpacks, hook pouches, hammer, and drill holders.
Bahco lanyards are used to attach any tool in order to prevent them from harming personnel should they fall.
Some models such as the 3875 – LY1, LY 2, and LY3 have individual tracking numbers to ensure ease of traceability. They also have the maximum tool weights sewn on warning tags and manuals. I.T.N labels are permanently attached to each product.
Other products within the range include a Carabiner Lanyard with a 3kg maximum tool weight, with a full extended length of 120cms.
The Retractable Lanyard has a .9kg maximum tool weight and 100cm extendable length. It has a lock button on the side and an interchangeable loop with a barrel lock.
Bahco’s retractable lanyard features quick release connections with loops that connect to the tools. Finally Bahco also has a Wrist Lanyard that secures the tool close to the hand for tools used on an intensive basis.
All Bahco’s lanyards are certified against Bahco’s standards and developed against the highest quality principles in the industry. They are tested both statically and dynamically. The lanyard the tradie buys will have been tested in situations well beyond the circumstances that they will ever find themselves in.
Bahco’s Hand Tool Bags have multiple inner compartments and are secured by both a pulling string and barrel lock.
They are made with hardwearing PVC backed 600x600d polyester for maximum resistance. The light reflecting bands go all the way around the bag to support the weight put into them. The hand tool bags allow the tradie to move freely without the need of a toolbox and are available in small and large sizes.
Both feature a foam padded polyester back, adjustable shoulder straps, quick release attachments for added security, light reflective bands, and multiple inner compartments.
Finally, Bahco’s Tools at Height range includes a range of hook pouches that provide flexible solutions with rings to attach the lanyards to, and hooks to hold tools in loose connectors. Included in the range is a 4 Hook and 6 Hook Pouch, a Hammer, and Power Drill Holder, a 3 Pocket Belt and the big daddy of the range; the Universal Pouch. They offer a 3kg maximum carrying weight per hook, ensuring so the tradie can carry enough tools on his person at height safely.
Bahco have manufactured premium hand tools for the tradie for over 150 years. Their exacting design and manufacturing principles have been applied to their Tools at Height range, ensuring that the tradie need not have to worry about the safety and security of their hand tools when working at height.
